Huda Mauve Obsessions Palette: Review & Swatches

Oooooh Huda…where do I begin?!?!

Do I think this brand is overhyped???….yes.

Do I think this palette is worth $27???……no.

Am I annoyed that this ‘mauve’ palette only creates the same one berry look on me???…..yes.

Michaela, why are you even reviewing this???…..I honestly don’t even know!

Huda Mauve Obsession Palette ($27): I’m not saying this is a bad palette and actually really liked the berry toned look that I got from this!!! I just felt like everyone was raving about Huda shadows and personally don’t get the hype. For $27 I expected more and honestly can only get one look from this…the shadows just don’t have much depth or range.

The bone/cream shade is my fave!! It is rich and creamy which makes the other shadows actually perform better. I felt the deeper toned shades were a bit on the powdery side compared to this one. The two deepest ‘mauve’ shades actually look very similar one me and leave me wanting more umph. The two berry/pink matte shades are lovely but over power the two deeper shades and any hopes of a mauve look.

The shimmers have a creamy, foiled texture and work well with a flat brush…expect the lightest shade which only works with my finger or digging my brush into the product.

I do feel like you have to use a primer with these shadows to get any type of impact. I know using a primer is a no brainer these days, but for the price and Huda craze I just thought these would have more impact even without one.

I know this review is kind of a quick one, but the palette was just meh for me and wanted to give my simple little thoughts on the subject!!

With and without primer, same shades and I did use my fingers to build up the non primer side because the brush wasn’t working well!

I hope this helps you make a wise purchase and that’s really what I strive for with these reviews! So if you found this useful please follow my Blog and Instagram, also hit those share buttons!!
