Essence Highlight, Lipstick, and Eyeshadow: Review & Swatches

Well my dears this review is coming to you because I can’t get enough affordable makeup and Essence has been raved about so much on social media. I wouldn’t say that Instagram makes me buy stuff, but when a brand is priced right and their makeup catches my eye, it is hard to resist temptation!! You can buy Essence at Ulta and Target!

Here is my little makeup haul!!

All About Bronze Eyeshadow: No Shade Names

Pure Nude Highlighter: 10 Be My Highlight

Liquid Lipstick: Beauty Secret and Make A Statement

Sheer & Shine Lipstick: BFF

Review

All About Bronze Eyeshadow ($5.50): I was a little worried about this palette since all 8 shades are shimmer, but fear not my darlings these shadows look amazing without pulling in any mattes! The two darkest shades do look similar on the eyes and even with a long-lasting primer the shadows faded after 5 to 6 hours, but it was uniform and not patchy! The light shadows showed up well on my skin, which is impressive considering most affordable shadows lack pigments in the lighter shades.

Pure Nude Highlighter ($4.50): This highlight has been raved about so much and I had to give it a try! This offers a beauty soft peachy, golden glow that is great for everyday wear or for those who aren’t really into the extreme highlight trend that is so popular. There are finely milled pieces of glitter in this, they are subtle but I know some people try to stay away from glitter on their faces.

Liquid Lipstick ($2): These are lovely and offer a nice wash of color, but remind me of the NYX butter glosses and in no way a liquid lipstick. They do have that tacky gloss feel that does fade over time while leaving behind a slight tint to the lips. I enjoy glosses and will continue to reach for these, but if you are looking for a lipstick type of consistency these aren’t for you!

Sheer & Shine Lipstick ($3): This lipstick is just like the name implies. It offers a beautiful sheer tint of color and a lovely shine, which is just how I love my lipstick! It does have that sweet smell and taste, which doesn’t really fade with wear. The lipstick is comfortable, easy to wear, and the shades are flattering but not long-lasting, so will come off with eating and drinking.

Final Thoughts

There are few pros and cons to these products, but overall everything was amazing and has a youthful approach to natural beauty! This line really proves you don’t have to spend a lot of money to have quality makeup.

Make sure to follow my blog and my Instagram for even more reviews!! Thank you for stopping by and have a lovely day!
