New Too Faced Peaches and Cream: Review & Swatches

After about a year of being less than thrilled with Too Faced’s newer launches, this peach line got me sooooo excited!! I didn’t buy everything, but tried to get items that made the most sense to review!

A quick back story: I started using Too Faced 6 years ago while stationed down in Texas and it was my life line! Their No Makeup, Makeup Palette was what first drew me in and I loved it so much! I honestly used that palette everyday! It gave me a beautiful natural look that held up during the long military hours and lasted in the Texas climate…those summers are hot and the winters were just as painful! So when I review Too Faced the bar is set a bit higher for them, because I know what their products are capable of.

With that said, let’s get to reviewing!! I also have a lot of pics for your viewing pleasure!!

Just Peachy Mattes ($45): I think this palette is so much better than the original Peach Palette! Matte shadows are not as forgiving as shimmer/satin formulas, so it takes work to produce a full matte shadow palette. It’s obvious that they didn’t rush this one! The formula, shadow selection, layout, and packaging all are amazing!

The shadows aren’t really creamy but also not powdery. They have a density to them along with pigmentation, which makes for a beautiful cocktail! The lighter shadows show up on my pale arm and the darker shades perform without looking muddy when blending with other shades. I did notice some slight fading of the deeper browns when I wore them without primer, but it’s normal with my dang hooded eyes!

I will say that Peach Sangria is on the satin side and has the smallest hint of shimmer in it. As far as smell goes, it isn’t overly sweet like the original but does have a pleasant fruity scent!!

So overall, this is a winner!

Peach Perfect Foundation ($36): This comes in 12 shades and I picked up the third lightest in Vanilla (fair with neutral undertones). The formula is on the thinner side, coverage is medium to buildable full, and I didn’t notice any sweet fragrance in this one.

Not gonna lie, it looks yellow on my face! I didn’t go with a lighter shade because one as for rose undertones…any pink shade looks horrible on me…and the other was for very fair, so the thought of looking too ghostly worried me! I read over some other reviews and even the lighter shades seemed to be too dark and yellow for folks.

After applying a lighter toned concealer, blush, and bronzer it looks fine enough to wear out of the house. This is a matte foundation, but offers a very fresh-faced finish. It does a really great job of keeping my seriously oily nose under control. There was a bit of shine by the end of wear but nothing crazy and it didn’t breakdown like most foundations.

I do have a dry forehead and that was a concern considering it is a matte foundation, but honestly my dry spots looked fine! I do recommend using this with a damp beauty sponge and then going in with a denser foundation brush for areas that need full coverage. I tried doing my whole face with just a brush but the finish looked very heavy and cakey!

Since this is yellow toned, it offers great coverage for those of use with redness and under eye darkness. I know everyone is on that green for redness bandwagon, but yellow is a double hitter! Not only will it help cancel out pink and mild redness, it also helps warm up the blue/purple dark under eye area. So it makes sense why they would have a yellow base to offer better color correcting and give the illusion of a full coverage foundation but still keep the formula light and natural!

For me this was a winner!

Top Swatch is of the foundation in Vanilla…middle is the Sweetie Pie Bronzer and bottom Peach My Cheeks Blush.

Sweetie Pie Bronzer ($30): This bronzer is beautiful!! There is a gold over-spray that goes away after the first use, which is nice cause I love matte bronzers! Was a bit worried about the peachy pink shade in this because I have tried similar bronzers in the past that had me looking like a crazy lobster.

Not the case here! This bronzer is probably the most natural one I have ever used! It isn’t as golden as their Sweet Tea and not as orange as their Chocolate Bronzers. There is a natural warmth that it adds to face thanks to the peach tone, but has a slight sun-kissed quality from the different brown shades.

I know that medium and darker skin tones have said that this doesn’t show up for them, so hopefully they add more shades because having only one is a little odd…especially since this one looks like a pie and everyone should own this!!!

Peach My Cheeks Blush in Peach Dream ($30): This blush comes in 6 shades and is a cream to powder formula. I love cream blushes and this one is beautiful!! It is a cream, but has substance and umph. Some creams can become shear or move around too much once applied…not this baby! It almost clings to skin, but is still blendable. The finish is so natural and isn’t shimmery but does add this glow to the cheeks. Honestly it is gorgeous and one of my favorite Too Faced products!
